Tips to Find The Correct Bra Fit
Finding a bra with a perfect fit is a joy second to none. Many women believe their bra fits as well as possible, but still find themselves the victim of cup spillage, an annoying underwire that digs into their skin, or straps that constantly fall to the side because they are not using the appropriate size for their breasts. All of these issues can easily be fixed with a few simple tips that will help women find that perfect fit for their cup size.
Whether you are looking for a sports bra, push up bra, or a bralette; these simple tips can help you find that perfect fit:
1. Measure yourself
The difference between buying a bra that fits and wearing a bra that is right for your frame is like night and day. It isn’t that uncommon for women to judge their bra size incorrectly. The standard for measuring cup size is almost as old as the bra itself. With measurements ranging from AA-M and a band size of 28-44 has been the standard for generations of women. While nothing can beat the benefits of a professionally done measurement; it is perfectly acceptable to measure your cup size in the comfort of your own home. When doing your own measurements, you need to go around your back and across your nipples. With the bands, you lower your tape measure beneath your breasts. With these two measurements you can figure out your cup size.
2. Find the right cup size
To clarify, if your cup measures 36 inches and your bust measures 36 inches, you are a 32C. You find this magic number by subtracting your bust from your cup size which is equal to 3 (rounding up for different cup sizes). With age, women should be aware they need to re-measure as your bust size can change with time.
3. Quality over quantity
Since you are going to be spending most of your time wearing a bra, it is a good idea to make sure that you are wearing one that feels comfortable for an extended period of time. The female breast is a delicate collection of nerve endings and requires ample support. When buying a bra, you want to make sure that you aren’t going to end up feeling like you are being bound up and trapped. Many women will choose to buy cheaper bras believing that there isn’t going to be much difference but these lower quality bras will often lose their elasticity quickly and fall apart far sooner. You are better off spending a few extra dollars on fewer bras than you would be having a dozen cheaper ones. A good quality bra is going to give you extra support which can help alleviate an aching back after a hard day’s work.
4. The right bra style
It is also important to understand that different bras are available for different purposes. You are not going to want to wear a sports bra on a date nor are you going to want to wear a $40 Victoria’s Secret lace bra to work out at the gym.
In closing, buying a bra can be a daunting experience but if you arm yourself with a little bit of knowledge you can make sure that your next bra buying experience is going to result in far more comfortable days and maybe even a few more steamy nights!
